I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Ex two-time unified boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Difference

As both boxers participated in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly happening.
