Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline including angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in strength within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the main group to undertake their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might look unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, assaulting the character, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then paid off his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the region and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as key figures in the powerful family could assist the team enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- Teor is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.
